Dear God! Some actual photos on this photography site. Who woulda thunk it?
A few months back, Nathan Ziegler built me a beautiful home. He's still building homes, but he's also building a great new wine label. I'm honored to have been asked to handle his new website as well as some promotional photography.
As we watched the first bottle of his Tempranillo be bottled, Nathan leaned over at me and said "This is the best day of my life!" He said this with all the excitement of a boy who's seeing Safeco Field for the first time. I had to remind him that it's probably smart to tell his wife that this day rank fourth -- behind his wedding day and the births of his two sons.
"Well...since then," he replied.
Photographically, the bottling was a blast. There's a lot of great substance and contrast at the winery; it made for some great styistic options. It's an old warehouse/barn that's used for bottling many high-end wines in the Columbia River Gorge...and it also looks like a place where a deal might go down on Breaking Bad.
Nevertheless...sometimes the most obscure places yield some of the best results. I'd like to think that's true for both Nathan's wine and my photos.
