"Well I looked at him and caught him lookin' at me
I knew right then we were playin' free in Oregon"
- Loretta Lynn, Portland Oregon
Amongst the vintage charm of The Gorge White House and the intermittent drizzle one can only find in the Pacific Northwest, Ben and Melanie brought smiles to all their guests with their warmth, excitement, generosity and a unique outlook on life and sense of humor.
Unity candle? Nope.
Unity sand? I don't think so.
How about a Unity Cocktail? Most definitely.
Who should say their vows first? That decision was made mid-ceremony by the toss of a coin.
Tuxedos? No thanks.
Kilts? Yes please.
Ben and Melanie are a great example of how a good wedding is just an extension of your relationship. No matter what tradition or society may say; if you just and do what you believe, you'll be just fine…you'll probably even feed some friends and family some great cake along the way.
Such is the beat to which Ben and Melanie walk. It's cadence may be a little different, but it's a strong and rockin' vibe...and it sounds a lot like Pat Benetar.
Thank you, Ben and Melanie for inviting me to capture your day. The pleasure was all mine.
